OILS

The type of oil chosen for the preparation of oil colours marks the physical and chemical characteristics of the work. The oils are composed of triglycerides, fatty substances or fatty acids (Stearic, oleic and linolenic).
• Uses: Used mixed with oil-based colours to achieve greater fluency, brightness, transparency and elasticity in the paint. Oils are necessary to bind the pigments in powder MIR.

It is advise to keep the containers exposed to the light because the lack of light usually makes oil turn yellow.
