Javier Puértolas was born in 1947 in Binéfar (Huesca). He studied painting at the Massana school in Barcelona, the city where he lives and works since 1971.
In this same school, in 1980, he became a professor in the department of painting and mural procedures at the La Massana school of art and design in Barcelona.
The curriculum of this great artist is very extensive, he has hold numerous individual exhibitions, of which we highlight on a personal level: “Uninterruptedly” Art Center Gallery, Barcelona, “Spaces and Fruits” Berruet Gallery, Logroño, and “Landscapes Series” Seny Gallery , Barcelona.
He has also held many joint exhibitions such as: “Odessa Academy of Arts” Odessa (Ukraine), “Mediterranean Artits in New York” Tribeca Gallery, New York or “Arte Lisboa 09”, Cànem Gallery, Contemporary Art Fair, Lisbon.

It has works and collections distributed throughout all the museums and town halls in Spain, such as the Alto Aragón Contemporary Art Museum, Huesca, the Contemporary Art Museum, Elche (Alicante), or the La Rioja Museum, Logroño. And works in the City Council of Binéfar, the City Council of Barcelona or the City Councils of Castell d'Aro, s'Agaró and Platja d'Aro, (Gerona).
