M I R. Oil extra-fine quality, consisting of specific pigments for fine arts, high stability to light and brightness. Vegetable oils that make up the oil blotters are chosen so they don't modify the tone of the pigment, dry evenly and colorless in one layer, of maximum transparency and consistency.

A fundamental part of the production of oil refining Mir is the initial pigment paste and oil. This mass is passed through a mill consisting of three steel rollers, as many times as necessary, to achieve a perfect dispersion of pigment particles in the oil medium. In this way the oil will get its fine features, creaminess, brightness and tinting strength as well as enhancing the stability in time of painting both inside the tube and once applied.

Each pigment has a natural dry time, according to different conditions of temperature and humidity. In making the Mir Oil we attempt to bring the different drying times as close as possible so that the colors of a work dry evenly, in doing so we do not want to compromise the stability of the paint, so there will allways be differences that the artist must take as specific to the technique of oil.

The range of oil colors Mir contains basically totally covering colors completing the range with semi-opaque and fully transparent colors. The covering power is an intrinsic property of the pigment in the oil and the artist knows how to make use of both the pigments that cover and the transparent ones as well those that allow subtle effects of glazes.
